Maxwell has announced his 2026 Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite Cruise.

The R&B legend’s third annual cruise, which departs from Miami, will sail on the Norwegian Joy from Feb. 7 through Feb. 12, 2026. The five-night voyage will make stops at Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas and sail to the exotic Amber Cove in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

Passengers will be treated to two exclusive performances by Maxwell. He will be joined by special guests The Isley Brothers, Kem, Lucky Daye, Kelly Price, Tweet, PJ Morton, Elle Varner, Moonchild and more. Plus, comedian Joyelle Nichole Johnson will supply the laughter.

Aside from the live music and comedy, Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite Cruise will feature DJ sets, cuisine, and more experiences. DJs and chefs for the cruise will be announced at a later date.

Last year’s sold-out excursion on the Norwegian Pearl made stops in the Cayman Islands and Jamaica. It featured performances by Maxwell, Anthony Hamilton with Ton3s, Marsha Ambrosius, Lalah Hathaway, Avery*Sunshine, Terrace Martin, Tye Tribbett, Third World, Yellowman, Sharon Marley and others.

In 2024, Maxwell kicked off his inaugural cruise with Musiq Soulchild, Ledisi, Robert Glasper, Leela James, Sabrina Claudio and Gallant.

Speaking on his experience performing on the cruise, Gallant told Rated R&B, “It felt like a vacation, a reunion, and an extraordinary experience to be with so many people I look up to. Obviously, Maxwell is one of my biggest inspirations, falsetto-wise [and] song craft-wise. He couldn’t be a nicer person, honestly.”

Before Maxwell embarks on his annual cruise, the “Sumthin’ Sumthin’” singer will perform shows throughout the summer in North America, including in San Diego, New Orleans, Miami and Atlanta.

He will also head overseas for festivals such as the Love Supreme Jazz Festival in East Sussex and the North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam.

Later this fall, he will launch The Silent Serenade Ensemble, with three back-to-back shows in Washington, D.C. and a special show in his hometown, Brooklyn.

“Brooklyn raised me, D.C. embraced me—and there’s nothing like sharing that kind of love in a more intimate setting,” said Maxwell. “These shows are going to feel like home.”

In music news, Maxwell’s last single, “Simply Beautiful,” a cover of Al Green’s classic, spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart in August 2024. It’s his ninth chart-topper.
