Camper Taps Jill Scott and Ty Dolla $ign for New Song ‘Oowee’

Grammy-winning producer Camper has enlisted Jill Scott and Ty Dolla $ign for his new single “OOWEE.” 

On the hazy production, Jill and Ty’s distinctive voices fuse like a euphoria-inducing hybrid strain, as they float in a romance enhanced by marijuana.

“I’m just tryna smoke, she tryna get me out my t-shirt / I was just tryna get top and then I ended up in her box,” Ty Dolla $ign sings. 

Scott appears in verse two, singing, “How high? Is the question / Man, here’s the method, I only like sativa / Skittles rollin’ keeper unity for all my people.”

Speaking on his new smokers’ anthem, Camper exclusively tells Rated R&B, “‘OOWEE’ is a moment in time that we’ll never get back. TY and JILL SCOTT together has never been done. Making history is what I love to do. Soon as it’s on, you hear the intensity; you feel the passion because it’s real. This is extremely special.”

“OOWEE” is Camper’s first single of 2025 and the fourth from his upcoming album, Campilation. In 2024, he dropped three collaborations: “I Need It” featuring Syd and Tank, “War” featuring Ari Lennox and Jeremih, and “Waiting On You” with Tone Stith. 

In an exclusive 2023 interview with Rated R&B, Camper teased details about his upcoming collaborative project. “I have all the R&B artists I love that’s my family on the album together. [The album is] like what DJ Khaled did with hip-hop, but this is R&B,” Camper told.

He also revealed that additional features would include Brandy, John Legend, Ne-Yo and H.E.R., among others. 

Aside from Campilation, Camper has been keeping busy producing for many artists as of late, including Justin Bieber (“All The Way”), Coco Jones (“Delete It”), Ledisi (“I Do”), Alex Isley (“Ms. Goody Two Shoes”), The Amours (“Clarity”) and more. 

As for Jill Scott, the Philadelphia native recently joined Teyana Taylor on “Pum Pum Jump,” alongside Tyla, from Taylor’s album Escape Room. She also made a poetic appearance on R&B newcomer Dominic Scott’s 2024 project, Dear Summer (Alternate Ending). 

Meanwhile, Ty Dolla $ign is gearing up to release his new album TYCOON on Sept. 12 via Atlantic Records. The album will include the lead single “All In,” which samples Wayne Wonder’s “No Letting Go.”
