The Recording Academy revealed the nominations for the 68th Grammy Awards on Friday morning (Nov. 7).
Music’s Biggest Night will take place Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. It will broadcast live on CBS and stream live and on demand via Paramount+.
In the R&B Field, which consists of five categories, Leon Thomas leads the pack with four nominations, including Best R&B Album for MUTT. The latter is also nominated in the General Field for Album of the Year.
Durand Bernarr is the second-most nominated in the R&B field with three nods, including for Best Progressive R&B Album for BLOOM.
The R&B field includes the following categories: Best R&B Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best R&B Song, Best R&B Album, and Best Progressive Album. Each category guarantees at least five nominees.

Last year, the Recording Academy amended its criteria for the Traditional R&B Performance category “to more accurately represent recordings that embody the classic elements of R&B/soul music, distinguishing them from contemporary interpretations of the genre.”
New this year, the Academy has introduced two new categories: Best Album Cover and Best Traditional Country Album. “The Academy’s top priority is to represent the music people that we serve each year,” said Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. “That entails listening carefully to our members to make sure our rules and guidelines reflect today’s music and allow us to accurately recognize as many deserving creators as possible.”
To be considered for a 2026 Grammy nomination, recordings had to have been released between Aug. 31, 2024, and Aug. 30, 2025.
