Ama has joined forces with her label head, Brent Faiyaz, for her new single “Need It Bad,” out via ISO Supremacy / Pulse Records.

The Mannyvelli and Spizledoe production captures the carnal desire to be within touch of a romantic partner.

Faiyaz steers the first half of the song with longing lyrics such as, “Can I spend the night and keep you warm?” He later sings in the chorus: “What you want babygirl? Where you at? / I’m looking for you right now / I need it bad.”

Ama responds in the second verse, expressing a shared interest with a trace of skepticism. She ultimately decides, “Don’t let nobody know and I’ll let you roll by.”

“Need It Bad” is accompanied by an official music video directed by Micaiah Carter. The aesthetically pleasing video depicts two love interests yearning for that connection until time and space eventually bring them together.

“Need It Bad” is the follow-up to “My Girl,” which was released in May 2025. The latter marked the end of a two-year hiatus, following the release of her debut album, I Came Home Late.

“It’s definitely the most personal music I’ve ever released,” Ama said. “I dove deep into my songwriting origins for parts of the album.”

As for Faiyaz, the Columbia, Maryland, native released his third album, Icon, on Feb. 13. Executive produced by Raphael Saadiq, the album includes the No. 1 hit “Have To,” which topped Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay and Mediabase’s R&B radio charts.

Icon debuted atop Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart, tallying Faiyaz’s second No. 1.
