Eric Bellinger has inked a deal with the newly-relaunched Tamla Records, in partnership with Motown.

The iconic record label, founded by Berry Gordy, was relaunched in 2025 under Capitol Music Group, with hitmaker Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins as a partner.

The Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter joins a growing roster that includes Adam Blackstone, Lee Vasi and Tim Bowman Jr.

“I couldn’t be more excited about teaming up with Rodney Jerkins and Tamla/Motown,” said Bellinger. “To have such a full circle moment like this is not only God’s doing, but also a testament to his timing. Had this opportunity come any sooner, I’m not sure if I would’ve been as ready as I am now.”

Over the last decade, the 42-year-old has established himself as a key figure in the independent R&B community. “Being independent up to this point in my career has prepped me for it all,” Bellinger continued. “Not only has it taught me how much is required to be successful in today’s music industry, but working through each task has also enabled me to appreciate those around me because I know just how hard it is and how much it takes to really make an impact.”

Jerkins added, “I’m excited for the world to experience the direction Eric is taking with this new project. It’s a bold evolution of his sound! Intentional, fresh, and rooted in purpose and who he is as an artist. This is just the beginning of a new chapter.”

With his new label announcement, Bellinger has released his new song “Cry In Front Of You.” The production is enriched by live instrumentation as Bellinger sings about the emotional comfort that comes from a solid relationship. “Tell you all my problems / Love how I can vent to you,” he sings.

“Cry In Front Of You” was produced by Warren Felder, Oscar Linnander and Jayme Silverstein. It is the lead single from Bellinger’s upcoming self-titled album. The LP will follow 2025’s It All Makes Sense, the sequel to 2024’s It’ll All Make Sense Later.

On April 29, he will launch his An Intimate Night With Eric Bellinger Live tour in Boston. The tour will visit City Winery locations across the U.S., including in Philadelphia, Chicago and Atlanta. It also includes shows at Sony Hall in New York and The Novo in Los Angeles.
