Coco Jones and Donovan Mitchell Announce Engagement

Grammy-winning R&B singer Coco Jones and NBA player Donovan are now engaged.

The couple announced the news in a joint Instagram post of a sun-lit photo of them wrapped in arms, a ring on Jones’ finger,” soundtracked by her song “You.”

Ciara and her husband, Russell Williams, sent them their love after seemingly having a role in the proposal. “Ciara and I are so happy for you love birds,” Wilson wrote in an Instagram Story. “Thanks for allowing us to plan this with you Spida with [West2East – Luxury.]”

In a February interview on Club Shay Shay, Jones confirmed that she was in a relationship with the Cleveland Cavaliers player. Host Shannon Sharpe asked her directly after rumors started swirling online.

“I love the internet because they definitely clocked my tea. I love that. Little spies everywhere…feel like I’m in a detective movie. But you know what, I’m happy,” Jones said, before pivoting back to her music, which she explained is her outlet for sharing parts of her personal life.  

In April, during the press run for her debut album, Why Not More? Jones was asked again about her relationship. She told The Breakfast Club, “I’m happy — and that’s all I’m going to say about it. People already know. Y’all know.”

Jones released Why Not More? April 25 via High Standardz/Def Jam Recordings. The album included the Grammy-nominated hit “Here We Go (Uh Oh),” which spent seven weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. 

Why Not More? also included the singles “Most Beautiful Design” featuring London on Da Track and Future, “Taste” and “You.”
