Coco Jones has launched a new era with “Luvagirl,” out via High Standardz/Def Jam.
Produced by Shae Jacobs, Jones soars over regal horns and a funky rhythm section about being swept away by love.
The first verse bids farewell to the single life, with lines like “I used to run in them streets / I did what I pleased.” Meanwhile, verse two lavishes in their hearty connection. “Just us in love and desire / Boy, you know what to do to me,” she sings.
“Luvagirl” is Jones’ first single since releasing her debut album, Why Not More? in April 2025. The Grammy-nominated LP debuted at No. 6 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart. It includes the Grammy-nominated single “Here We Go (Uh Oh),” as well as collaborations with Future, London On Da Track and YG Marley.

“Why Not More? is the question I’ve been asking myself in hopes of understanding me and growing in confidence,” said Jones. “This album is about leaning into whoever you are right now without worrying about who you’ve been or who you want to be in the future. Authenticity will never lead you to the wrong place, so why not lean in?”
Nearly three months after releasing her debut album, Jones announced her engagement to NBA player Donovan Mitchell.
In February, Jones performed the Black National Anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” at Super Bowl LX, where Puerto Rican star Bad Bunny headlined the halftime show. She reflected on Instagram, “Yesterday was heavy. The world is heavy. I felt the heartbreak of it all and the obligation to stand in that moment as a vessel of hope. The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”
Three days after her performance, Jones previewed “Luvagirl” in an ad campaign for Lays. The Instagram clip showed Jones hard at work in a recording studio, where she received a special delivery from the potato chip brand. “JUST what I needed to finish this record– the freshest bag of @lays delivered in under 72 hours,” she wrote in the caption.
In other news, Jones is set to star in the upcoming romantic comedy film That’s Her.
