Inspirational/Gospel singer Evvie McKinney is letting the world know she believes in Jesus with her latest single, “Believe In Jesus,” featuring Grammy-winning artist Doe.
“Believe in Jesus” is a mid-tempo, acoustic inspirational song, but I feel this song could cross over to Pop and even other genres. I really like how they experimented with the production. This isn’t your typical church song, but I think it can appeal to people of many ages and nationalities.
This song is simple to understand and remember, but it has a powerful message. The song is encouraging and will put you in a place of gratitude and awe for God. It will give you hope, which I think everyone needs, given the current state of the world.
The hook says, “I believe in Jesus/ I believe every word He said/ I believe He’s with me/ He’s the reason for every breath/ Even if I stand alone/I let the whole world know/I believe in Jesus.”
This song also reminds us that God is in control and that we are never alone or too far gone for Jesus to love and forgive us.
Both Evvie and Doe give great vocal performances, and you can hear in their voices that they believe what they’re singing. I always appreciate hearing singers’ voices without all of the effects.
“When I wrote ‘Believe in Jesus,’ it all started from a conversation about how much the world glorifies everything made by God, except for God Himself,” Evvie McKinney says in a press release. “Believe in Jesus” is a personal declaration expressing that although the people of the world have progressed away from Christ, I will still stand and let the whole world know that I am the daughter of the King, Jesus of Nazareth, the Father of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In the past, I’ve been told many times not to say Jesus’ name in interviews and on television because it would offend people. Well, once the listener hears this song, there’s no doubt that you will walk away knowing who my allegiance is to. I pray that every person who listens to this song is spiritually hugged by the Holy Spirit and becomes a sounding advocate for our Lord.”
McKinney was telling the truth when she said many shy away from saying “Jesus” to avoid offending others, especially in the entertainment and music industries. However, I commend her for being bold and standing true to her beliefs. I’m sure many others will appreciate that as well.
McKinney is no stranger to sharing her faith, especially on social media. She often shares Bible verses, encouraging words, and brief messages related to her faith.
Doe shares, “I loved getting to be part of this moment with Evvie! I’m so thankful for such a powerful declaration circulating throughout our digital airwaves. I BELIEVE IN JESUS.”
If you need a song to uplift your spirits and give you some encouragement, this is the one.
