Inayah Releases Dramatic ‘Choose’ Video

Singer-songwriter Inayah has unveiled the official music video for her latest single “Choose.” 

Directed by City James, the dramatic clip, co-starring actor Patrick Cage, captures the pressure of balancing personal life with career ambitions. In the video, Inayah and her partner (Cage) get into a heated argument that forces her to choose between them.  

“‘Choose’ is the story of a woman who finds herself feeling like she has to make the decision between this particular passion that she’s had for as long as she can remember, and also, on the other hand, the love of her life that she’s always dreamed of for herself,” Inayah tells Rated R&B. “We get front row seats in seeing how she was able to navigate through those challenges that she faced on that particular journey.”

In an Instagram post, Inayah shared, “This is my FAVORITE music video to date! Y’all know me, I’ma storyteller… so to see my vision come to life after writing it out was a DREAM come true! @patrickcage is an amazing actor.”

Produced by Triangle Park and Mustapha, “Choose” was released Feb. 13 via Inayahlator Enterprises/EMPIRE. “I was actively going through all seven stages of grief while recording,” she said. “I went through anger, regret, acceptance, and forgiveness, to name a few. I was getting everything off my chest in real time.”

“Choose” is the first single since Inayah’s 2024 album, Wait, There’s More. Regarding the latter project, Inayah said, “I am so sure about this body of work. It’s about reclaiming my time. It’s confident, fearless, in your face, undeniable and disruptive. There is a song on the album for everyone.”
