Kehlani Releases Nostalgic Video for ‘Out the Window’

Kehlani has unveiled the official music video for her latest single “Out The Window.”

The Gabe Phoenix and Travis Colbert-directed clip revisits the flair of music videos from the late ’90s and early 2000s. It’s packed with nuggets that make you appreciate visuals from the golden era of R&B even more.

From mini-world sets and payphone booth scenes to leather attire and singing in the rain, the video offers over four minutes of nostalgic escapism.

Kehlani’s “Out The Window” video arrives nearly three weeks after the song’s release (Nov. 7). The yearning ballad, produced by Khris Riddick-Tynes and Antonio Dixon, debuted at No. 63 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Elsewhere, it opened at No. 2 on R&B Digital Song Sales and No. 7 on Hot R&B Songs. 

“Out The Window” is the follow-up to Kehlani’s Grammy-nominated hit single “Folded.” The heartfelt track, which scored Kehlani’s first top 10 on the Hot 100, is up for Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song at the 2026 Grammy Awards. 

In a recent interview with Los Angeles’ REAL 92.3, Kehlani teased that she plans to officially announce her fifth album in December, with a spring release. “Spring is like my little happy time to bloom,” she told the hosts of The Cruz Show.

Kehlani’s upcoming album will follow 2024’s CRASH, which scored a Grammy nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album. The lead single, “After Hours,” also picked up a nod: Best R&B Song. 

After dropping CRASH in June, Kehlani quickly followed up in August with her While We Wait 2 mixtape. The sequel to her 2019 project includes features from Lucky Daye, kwn, DIXSON, Destin Conrad and more.
