Sometimes intimacy in the bedroom can leave one speechless. On “Talk You Through It,” Kenyon Dixon vows to guide his partner through those intensely pleasurable moments with tender reassurance.
Over a silky production bed, crafted by Frank Rose, Dixon sings, “Let me make myself clear / I’ll be pulling you near / Whispering in your ear like / Breathe deep.”
Co-written by Dixon and Davion Farris, “Talk You Through It” is the first offering from his new album Ego Ruins Everything, arriving later this year. It will mark his first solo album since 2023’s The R&B You Love. He followed up with two EPs in 2024 — The R&B You Love: Soul of the ’70s and The R&B You Love: For the ’99 and the 2000s.

Last year, Dixon teamed up with producer and multi-instrumentalist Terrace Martin for Come As You Are. The progressive soul project scored Dixon his first entries on Billboard’s Jazz Albums and Contemporary Jazz Album charts.
“Come As You Are is really about freedom—creative freedom, cultural freedom, and just personal freedom,” said Dixon. “Me and Terrace both grew up surrounded by both the church and the realness of LA—different experiences, but the same energy.”
In late March, Dixon provided background vocals for Tyrese and Tank‘s Verzuz battle. He has a longstanding relationship with both artists, having co-written several songs for their respective catalogs and for their short-lived group, TGT.
