After a three-year hiatus, Syd has returned with her new single “Die For This.” It’s her first release since signing to Free Lunch Records/Warner Records.

Written and produced by Syd, “Die For This” is a devotional driven by hyperbolic lyrics about a love worth risking it all for — especially after time lost.

“I just hate to think of where we might’ve been / If I pulled the rug instead of diving in / Never hit the brakes, let’s keep the ride goin’ / Really love my life, but I would die for this,” she sings.

“Die For This” arrives three years after The Internet singer released her second solo album, Broken Hearts Club, in April 2022 via Columbia Records. The vulnerable album featured collaborations with Lucky Daye, Kehlani and Smino.

Since then, Syd has collaborated with a few artists, including Duckwrth (“Ce Soir“), Camper and Tank (“I Need It“), and Moses Sumney (“Hey Girl (s)”), which also features Meshell Ndegeocello.

Further, Syd co-wrote Beyoncé‘s Grammy-winning hit “Plastic Off The Sofa” from her culture-shifting album Renaissance

Syd is currently in the U.K. supporting pop superstar Billie Eilish on her Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour through the rest of July. In September, she will join Reneé Rapp on the U.S. leg of her Bite Me Tour.
