Leon Thomas Announces New EP ‘Pholks,’ Shares ‘Just How You Are’

R&B rockstar Leon Thomas is on a roll. The Grammy winner has announced his new EP, PHOLKS, will release Oct. 24 via EZMNY Records/Motown. 

According to press materials, the project is “a love letter to beautiful chaos and the need to feel” that “doubles down on raw creativity following the acclaim of MUTT.”

PHOLKS will include the lead single, “Just How You Are,” which is available today (Oct. 3).

Produced by his “Mutt” collaborators Freaky Rob and D. Phelps, “Just How You Are” equally draws from R&B, funk and rock elements, giving it a glossy finish for the dance floor. The groove-ready production is undercut by hazy lyrics that detail a lopsided romance. 

“And if you know you had my heart / Could never finish what you started / You love to pick my world apart / But that’s just how you are,” Thomas sings. 

“Just How You Are” arrives with a video, co-starring Lovie Simone, which can be watched below. 

PHOLKS is the follow-up to Thomas’ lauded sophomore album, MUTT, released in September 2024. The album was preceded by the title track, which, as of this writing, is No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 in its 34th week on the chart. 

PHOLKS comes ahead of Thomas’ massive Mutts Don’t Heel World Tour, which kicks off Oct. 30 in Dallas.

The tour will visit major cities across North America, the U.K./Europe and Australia through April 2026. It’s worth noting that the North American leg, which wraps in late December, is completely sold out.
