Ari Lennox has landed a new entry on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart with her latest single “Soft Girl Era.”
The Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox-produced bop debuts at No. 30 on the chart, which is led by Summer Walker’s “Heart of a Woman.”
It marks Lennox’s seventh entry on the Adult R&B Airplay chart, three of which are No. 1s, including “Pressure,” also produced by Durpi and Cox.

Lennox dropped “Soft Girl Era” on her 34th birthday (March 26). It’s her first single release since departing from J. Cole’s Dreamville Records. She is signed directly to Interscope Records, where her music was previously distributed in her former deal.
The Washington, D.C., native co-wrote her new anthem with the song’s producers, alongside Ant Clemons and Gabrielle Rodgers.
“Soft Girl Era” is the follow-up to Lennox’s 2024 single “Smoke,” produced by BongoByTheWay. As noted above, the song peaked at No. 18 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart.
In 2023, Lennox released “Get Close” as a standalone single. It marked her first taste of music since her 2022 sophomore album, age/sex/location. The album spawned her gold-selling single “Pressure,” which is her longest-running No. 1 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart — three weeks.
