After a brief hiatus, Muni Long is back with new music. The Grammy-winning singer has returned with “Richest,” her first single of the year.

Produced by Charlie Coffeen, the heartfelt ballad captures the vulnerability of opening up to love again after past heartbreak. “My last relationship was f****n crazy / And that’s why I’m so scared right now to say I love you, baby / Tryin’ not to blow it ’cause I feel it, but I’m too afraid to show it,” she confesses.

Even when hesitation creeps in, the present and the possibility of the future eclipse what’s already happened. “I admit that I was lost until I found you / You’re my platinum, my diamond, my silver, my gold / My emeralds, my rubies, my heart and my soul,” she sings.

Speaking on “Richest,” Long explained, “Over the last year, I learned wealth looks different than I thought…I’d like to share with you everything I gained when I stopped measuring my life by what I lost.”

“Richest” is accompanied by a Brandon Silvero-directed music video, co-starring rapper Akeem Ali, who plays Long’s love interest.

“Richest” is the follow-up to “Delulu,” which dropped in October 2025. In a recent interview with Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts, Long, who was diagnosed with lupus in 2014, opened up about a health scare that forced her to pull out of Brandy and Monica‘s The Boy Is Mine Tour.

Long revealed that she contracted pneumonia while on tour. In November, her doctors told her that she only had one week to live if she did not get a double lung transplant. “And they’re all like, ‘You need a transplant,’” Long told Roberts. “And I’m like, ‘Well, it sounds like you guys have a time[line], like, how long do I have to live?’ And they go, ‘A week. A week to live.’”

After getting the transplant in December, Long is on the road to recovery. “I’m six months post-op,” she said. “No symptoms, asymptomatic, no infections, none of that.”

Circling back to “Richest,” it’s the latest single that will appear on her upcoming third album, which is due this fall on Def Jam. The forthcoming project will follow 2024’s Revengewhich included hits such as “Made For Me,” “Superpowers” and “Ruined Me.”
